The Hillsboro Police Department executed a search warrant at 449 East Main Street, Hillsboro, at approximately 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
It is the residence of Highland County CVB Director Bob Lambert.
According to an Aug. 9 news release from Hillsboro Police Chief Todd Whited:
"On Oct. 30, 2014, I was advised by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office of a complaint in regard to Robert Lambert of East Main Street, Hillsboro. The complaint was in regard to alleged inappropriate sexual acts. Officers had also received information regarding similar incidents involving Lambert. At the request of the Hillsboro Police Department, Ohio BCI conducted an investigation with their cybercrime division.
"Early this morning, Aug. 9, 2016, the police department received information in regard to criminal activity involving sexual acts with minors at a residence in the 400 block of East Main Street. During this investigation, officers received information that led to a search warrant being served at the residence of Robert D. Lambert at 449 East Main St.
"Officers have collected numerous items of evidence that will be sent to BCI for examination.
"Lambert is currently being held at the Highland County Justice Center and will be charged with illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, 2907.323 Ohio Revised Code, a second-degree felony; and pandering obscenity with a minor, 2907.321 Ohio Revised Code, a fifth-degree felony."
Whited said bond is set for Lambert at $50,000 and, if he posts bail, he will be placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
Lambert was terminated Tuesday, Aug. 9 as director of the CVB by board president Tom Horst.
Lambert also was appointed by Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings to serve on the Hillsboro Planning Commission and the Hillsboro Civil Commission.
On Dec. 13, 2015, Highland County Coroner Dr. Jeff Beery also investigated a fatal heroin overdose at Lambert's residence.
