UPDATED: Highland County Sheriff's Office investigates two shootings

Two people are confirmed dead after multiple shootings in the 100 block of Trenton Street in Hillsboro.
According to Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera, Timothy Harewood, 35, reportedly shot and killed his 1-year-old daughter, assaulted the child's mother and later shot and killed himself on Friday afternoon, June 3.
Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera said his office received a 911 call at approximately 3:14 p.m.
The caller advised that someone was shooting in the area of Trenton Street, in Liberty Township, Highland County.
Highland County Sheriff’s deputies, along with officers of the Hillsboro Police Department, arrived on the scene.
When deputies arrived, they were met by a female, who advised that the shooter was dead and that he had shot their 1-year old daughter.
After further investigation, it was found that 35-year-old Timothy Harewood, of Hillsboro, was found deceased outside in the yard from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Inside the home, a 1-year female child was found deceased, with what is believed to be a single gunshot wound.
Investigators talked with subjects at the scene who stated that Harewood went inside the home, got a gun, shot the 1-year old, then went outside to where the mother and family were sitting.
Reportedly, Harewood went over to his girlfriend, who is reported to be the mother of the child, struck her in the face, and attempted to shoot her. Witnesses stated that the gun misfired, and that Harewood then turned the gun upon himself and fired a fatal shot.
The Paint Creek Fire Department and Life Squad was called to the scene, along with the Highland County Coroner’s Office.
This matter remains under investigation.
