UPDATED: Georgetown OSHP Post investigating fatal hit-skip crash

GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-skip crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred sometime Oct. 24 on state Route 125 near mile marker 16 in Jefferson Township, Brown County.

The preliminary investigation revealed an unresponsive pedestrian, identified as Caleb Holbert, 22, Russellville, was located partially in the roadway on state Route 125. It was determined Holbert was a pedestrian that was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The vehicle left the scene of the crash. A Ford vehicle part was located on scene, and the
suspect vehicle may be of that make.

Holbert succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

• On Friday evening, Oct. 24, the Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was contacted from the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office. Prior to that, the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted from a private attorney regarding his client, Michael Guillermin, 50, Russellville.

Through additional investigation, it was determined on Friday, Oct. 24, between 12:40 a.m. and 1 a.m., Guillermin was operating a 2020 Ford Escape eastbound on state Route 125. Holbert, a pedestrian, was walking eastbound on the westbound shoulder of state Route 125. The Ford traveled left of center and struck Holbert. The Ford then left the scene of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
