Two Greenfield council members take oath of office; one council member yet to be appointed

The Greenfield Village Council had two members sworn into office Sunday, with one council member yet to be appointed.
Incumbent Bob Bergstrom and first-term council member Chris Borreson were elected to the village council in the Nov. 8 general election. Incumbents Harvey Everhart and William Redenbaugh did not seek re-election.
Since only two candidates ran for three open seats, it is up to council to choose someone to fill the remaining seat. Sunday was the last day to submit applications to be considered for the post.
Greenfield City Manager Betty Bishop said that as of Sunday they had received three applications, but may consider additional applications if they are postmarked prior to Sunday.
Council will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for their first regularly scheduled meeting of the month, and Bishop said they will consider the council member appointment.
Council held a special session Sunday, Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. to consider the appointment of the council chair and vice chair.
Betty Jackman was selected by council as the chair, and Bergstrom was selected as the vice chair, which are positions they held in the previous year.
Bergstrom and Borreson were also sworn in Sunday by Highland County Court - Madison Township Judge Robert Judkins.
