Today's Hope, Tomorrow's Future promotes June 4 Derby Day fundraiser

Representatives from the nonprofit organization Today's Hope, Tomorrow's Future met with the Highland County Board of Commissioners Wednesday, April 20 in support of the THTF Derby Day fundraiser on June 4.
President Steven Williams and THTF officers Josh and Liticia Walker met with commissioners Jeff Duncan and Shane Wilkin and invited both to the June 4 event at Alley 21 in Hillsboro.
Commissioner Tom Horst was absent due to illness.
Liticia Walker said the June 4 fundraiser includes a dinner, dessert, entertainment and an auction for $50 per person. Seating is limited to the first 100 people who purchase tickets, Walker said.
The group is assisting the Highland County Homeless Shelter. The initial plan is to provide several major items the shelter needs, including a children’s play area with a playhouse and activity center, and benches and picnic tables for clients’ use.
There are many other things needed at the shelter, so this will be an ongoing effort for some time. There is a real need for volunteers to help make this a reality. There is a need for building help, tilling help and lots of manual labor.
The community is invited to join THTF, along with 2016 “Mrs. Ohio” Ashley Rutherford and her husband, Jason, at a dinner/auction/dance in Alley 21’s Bicentennial Room.
Dress in your Kentucky Derby best and enjoy the dinner and entertainment Saturday, June 4 from 7 p.m. until close. Reservations include a pre-dinner comedy; appetizers and beverages; a choice of three dinner entrees (white fish, sirloin steak or grilled pork chop with all the trimmings); and a dessert buffet from Batter Up Bakery in Leesburg.
After dinner, a silent auction will be held with donations from local supports of the Homeless Shelter. The party will continue with great entertainment from a favorite local band, Blue Steel.

According to Williams, the organization is also in need of financial contributions for new projects.
Physical donations may be taken to the Homeless Shelter daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. or may be taken to the Walker residence in Greenfield (please call first). Monetary donations can be dropped off at any Southern Hills Community Bank branch.
All donors will be recognized by THTF at the June 4 dinner.
