Teen injured in Brown County crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a one-vehicle serious injury traffic crash.

The crash occurred on June 25 at approximately 2:55 p.m. on Martin Alexander Road in Eagle Township, Brown County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, operated by Alexis M. Eagle, 18, of West Union, was traveling northbound on Martin Alexander Road at a high rate of speed when she failed to maintain control and traveled off the left side of the roadway.

Her vehicle struck a ditch, and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels. She was ejected from the vehicle.

She was flown to University Hospital by U.C. Air Care.

According to the OSHP, she was not wearing her safety belt at the time of the crash. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
