Hillsboro City Council member Pete Pence will hold a kickoff party Thursday, Jan. 12 to officially start his campaign for the new 91st Ohio House District seat.
Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is scheduled to attend the event, which will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge, at 451 Danville Pike.
Pence, a Democrat, is running against 86th District Rep. Cliff Rosenberger.
Refreshments will be served, and Pence said the public is welcome to attend.
Currently Ohio's 86th District, after redistricting is finalized, the new 91st district will include all of Pike, Highland and Clinton counties and a portion of Ross County.
