St. Mary’s Episcopal Church celebrates with ribbon cutting
The Highland County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Oct. 21 to celebrate its 170th anniversary and the completion of its renovation project with a rededication. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is located in Hillsboro at 234 North High Street. Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church offers worship, fellowship and spiritual support.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located in Hillsboro, celebrated its 170th anniversary and the completion of its renovation project with a rededication with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on Oct. 21. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is located at 234 North High Street, Hillsboro.
Saint Mary’s started in 1855 when some local families felt there was a need for an Episcopal church in Hillsboro. They have services at 9 a.m. on Sundays, and their office hours are Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saint Mary’s will be holding free community meals on the last Saturday of each month and a Christmas bazaar on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with more events in 2026.
Saint Mary’s would like to give a special thank you to the small number of volunteers who work so hard to maintain their buildings and grounds, and the small number of volunteers who handle their fundraisers, which provide for the repairs that a 170-year-old church needs
