Southern State invites the community to its 50th Anniversary Celebration, marking five decades of academic excellence, community impact, and student success. The milestone event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 4-6 p.m. on the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
During the celebration, campus tours will be available, alumni will be recognized, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held, and additional activities will take place. The event is free and open to the public.
“For 50 years, Southern State has been a cornerstone of education and opportunity in our region,” said Dr. Nicole Roades, president of Southern State. “We look forward to celebrating our legacy with the community that has supported us over the years.”
Since its founding in 1975, Southern State has served thousands of students, providing accessible, affordable, high-quality education and workforce training. The anniversary celebration will highlight key milestones and share the college’s vision for the next 50 years.
