Speaker Rosenberger, Sen. Peterson announce introduction of bill to fund community improvement projects

Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and Senator Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced that a bill to fund community improvement projects was introduced in the state legislature this week.
Senate Bill 310, also known as the capital budget bill, invests a total of nearly $2.6 billion in funding across Ohio for priorities like infrastructure, workforce development and the arts. The most significant portion of the funding goes toward supporting repairs and renovations at primary and secondary education facilities through the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
The capital budget’s investments are consistent with the legislature’s commitment of fiscal responsibility and a stronger, more competitive economic climate.
The introduced version of the bill includes a variety of projects in the 91st House District; from local community parks to furthering partnerships with higher education institutions to meet local workforce demands. One project in particular is a partnership with the Clarksville-Warren Joint Fire District and Sinclair Community College. The bill provides funding to locate a classroom, and most importantly training infrastructure to be available for rural, volunteer departments throughout Ohio.
“The capital budget is a way for the legislature to directly address the needs of local communities all across Ohio,” Rosenberger said. “I believe these projects will make a considerable positive impact throughout the 91st House District and around the state. For example, one project I’m especially excited about is the collaboration with Sinclair to provide our volunteer firefighters with an additional resource as they selflessly strive to improve the public safety in our communities.”
