COLUMBUS – State Senator Shane Wilkin (R-Hillsboro) has been named a defender of limited government by the Institute for Legislative Analysis (ILA). The award comes after an analysis of his voting record during his service in the Ohio House of Representatives in 2022.

"I'm proud to fight for limited government principles at the Statehouse," Wilkin said. "The state legislature has promoted polices to enhance energy independence, cut regulations, and better our state's workforce, which all directly benefit Ohioans' quality of life."

The Institute for Legislative Analysis aims to advance the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution by increasing transparency through their scorecard system. The Institute has awarded 47 federal and state lawmakers from five states, including Wilkin, for earning limited government ratings of 80% and above. The Ohio House's rankings were determined through the analysis of votes taken in 2022 on 42 pieces of legislation.
