State Senator Bob Peterson (R–Washington Court House) has announced the 2015 Legislative Scholarship Program that assists students in obtaining necessary education and training to obtain a job in an Ohio business or industry.

The scholarship is sponsored by the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools in cooperation with members of House and Senate in the Ohio General Assembly.

Scholarships are available for full or half tuition as well as specific dollar amounts.

“Helping Ohioans get needed job training is an important part of keeping the state’s economy moving,” said Peterson. “There are so many open and available job opportunities in Ohio and specifically in our region that are just waiting for the right person. This scholarship opportunity is perfect for someone looking to advance their career by getting themselves ready for those opportunities.”

The scholarships are available to any current high school seniors who will graduate from an Ohio high school by June 2015.

In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must obtain the signature of a State Representative or State Senator on their Legislative Nomination Form. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2015.

Scholarship packets, nomination forms, and additional information about the program can be found online at www.OhioCareerColleges.org/Legislative-Scholarship.

Senator Bob Peterson represents the 17th District in the Ohio Senate, which encompasses all or part of Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Vinton Counties. Learn more at www.OhioSenate.gov/Peterson.
