Highland County Fair Board President Charles Davidson made a special presentation on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 12 at the 2015 Highland County Fair.

President Davidson presented two plaques to Russ Storer of Storer Sound Service.

The first plaque was in honor of appreciation for all of his years of service working the sound board for the Highland County Fair. The second plaque was even more special, as it is in recognition of Russ' induction into the Highland County Agricultural Hall of Fame.

Russ followed in his father, Everett’s, tradition in working the sound board for the Highland County Fair. Nora Storer could not recall if Russ’s first contract was in 1972 or 1974.

When asked if anyone in the family will continue the tradition, Russ stated “that is to be determined.”

Rick Storer said the family has a relative who may be interested.

Russ thanked Davidson and concluded the ceremony by saying he “really enjoyed working with all of you in the fair board.”
