A record crowd turned out for a time of fellowship, food, fun and celebration as the Highland District Hospital Foundation hosted its annual Holiday Ball on Saturday evening at the Hillsboro Elks Lodge.
Well more than 200 people attended the Holiday Ball, which also set an attendance record a year ago.
There was dinner, music, a silent and live auction, and a John Deere Gator was given away at the end of the evening.

“Wow ... what a great night and what amazing support from the community,” HDH Foundation Director Cathy Jones said. “Our hospital is so important to the community, and it’s great to see so many people support it.”
Proceeds from the annual event will go to support the purchase of a 4D ultrasound unit at the hospital.
Foundation Board of Directors President Vicki Rhude welcomed the large crowd, thanking them for their continued support.
“We have a sold-out crowd, we even had a waiting list,” Rhude said. “The foundation and the hospital had a great year this year, and we work all year to get ready for this event.
“It’s our favorite event, and we look forward to it each year. But it wouldn’t be possible without all of you – you have supported us for many years, and for that, we thank you.”
