The Highland County Pork Producers held their Annual Banquet on March 24 at the Pondo Banquet Center in Hillsboro, during which they crowned their 2011 queen.
A buffet style meal was served by Ponderosa featuring pork tenderloins grilled by the Pork Producers. Entertainment was provided by local vocalist Paige Stauhlt.
Kayla Deatley took home top honors at this years Annual Banquet by being named the 2011 Highland County Pork Industry Queen.
Deatley, as well as fellow contests Melissa Blankenship, Taylor Bratton and Charity Fetters were interviewed by a panel of judges prior to the start of the Banquet.
Each contestant then presented a speech on the pork industry to all in attendance and answered questions from the judges.
The Highland County Pork Council would like to thank all of the contestants for their enthusiasm in the Pork Industry and look forward to working with Deatley as she represents Highland County as the 2011 Pork Industry Queen.
