Party welcomes Cordray Sept. 27

The Highland County Democratic Party welcomes Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray as guest speaker at their fall dinner on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Ponderosa Banquet Center on South High Street in Hillsboro.
Cordray was elected attorney general in November 2008. He previously served as Ohio treasurer, Franklin County treasurer, state representative and as Ohio’s first solicitor general.
Cordray’s career has been guided by the spirit of community service and the belief that government should strive to make a positive difference in the daily lives of its citizens.
He lives near Grove City with his wife, Peggy, and their twins. His earliest claim to fame was as an undefeated five-time champion on the “Jeopardy” television show.
Dinah Phillips, Highland County Democratic Party chairperson, said, “We are so fortunate to have leaders like Rich Cordray fighting every day for the people of Ohio. Rich has been working tirelessly to stand up to greedy corporations and assist Ohio consumers. In fact, he has been so successful that the national media has taken notice.”
All Nov. 3 general election candidates also will be introduced.
Attendees are urged to bring a canned good to be donated to Samaritan Outreach.
Frank Grover will be on hand to conduct the auction.
