OSHP investigating fatal hit-skip crash involving pedestrian

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating
a fatal hit-skip crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on March 8, 2026, on Bethel-New Richmond Road east of U.S. 52 in Ohio Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation revealed an unresponsive pedestrian, identified as Jayden Nelson, 19, New Richmond, was located on Bethel-New Richmond Road. It is believed that Nelson was struck by an unidentified vehicle.

Nelson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the New Richmond Police Department, the New Richmond Fire Department and EMS, and the Clermont County Coroner's Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Batavia Post. This is an active and open investigation, and the Patrol is seeking the public's help. Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact the Batavia Post at (513) 732-1510.
