OSHP investigating 3-vehicle fatal crash in Brown County
Mount Orab – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 5:55 a.m. on state Route 32 at the intersection of Eastwood Road in Sterling Township, Brown County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2023 Hyundai Elantra, operated by Mark A. O’Roark, 50 of Mount Orab, Ohio was driving eastbound on state Route 32 approaching stopped traffic at the intersection of Eastwood Road.
O’Roark failed to maintain assured clear distance striking a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro operated by Richard B. Lowery, 53 of Cincinnati. Lowrey’s vehicle then entered the intersection striking a 2024 Jeep Wrangler, operated by Ricky W. Lamb, 41 of Mount Orab, that was northbound on Eastwood Road.
O’Roark was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger, Shonda Coleman, 34 of Defiance, was seriously injured and transported by Mount Orab EMS to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Lowery was also transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. Mr. Lamb refused treatment on scene.
Neither O’Roark nor Coleman were seat-belted at the time of the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Mount Orab Fire and EMS, Mount Orab Police, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Brown County Coroner.
