OneOhio Recovery Foundation announces 7 new grant awards totaling $1.7M; Paint Valley ADAMH to receive over $750K
On Wednesday, the OneOhio Recovery Foundation announced $1.7 million in seven new Regional Grant awards from six different OneOhio Regions, including an over $750,000 grant for the Paint Valley ADAMH Board.
OneOhio’s 2024 Regional Grant awards aim to combat substance misuse by supporting prevention, treatment and recovery efforts across Ohio. This significant investment, along with awards to be announced in the near future, advances the Foundation’s commitment to supporting organizations on the frontlines of the addiction epidemic and fostering more resilient communities across the state.
Alisha Nelson, executive director of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, emphasized the importance of the inaugural round of grants in further strengthening Ohio’s infrastructure of resources to combat addiction.
“The organizations on the front lines of this fight are transformational agents of hope and change, and we are grateful to be their partner,” Nelson said. “These grants represent a crucial step in our shared mission to continue the spread of hope and healing for individuals and families affected by the epidemic. We believe that through collaboration and targeted support, we can make a difference in the lives of many Ohioans.”
NOTE: All 19 OneOhio Regions are expected to have additional grant awards announced in the future. Grants announced Wednesday should not be considered an exhaustive list for any region.
These seven new grant awards are part of more than $51 million allocated for the 2024 Regional Grant Cycle and were selected from 1,442 funding requests totaling $581 million from organizations statewide. Grantees were chosen in a collaborative process that included input from the OneOhio Regions, Expert Panel, Grant Oversight Committee and Board of Directors.
Additionally, the OneOhio Recovery Foundation’s Board of Directors has given preliminary approval for 110 grant awards. This approval authorizes Foundation staff to negotiate grant agreements with recipient organizations, and awards are publicly announced once grantee organizations complete the grant verification process. Several grant recommendations remain in the review process.
Grant Award Wednesdays will continue, as needed, through the end of 2024 or until all grant awards are announced. A complete list of recipients can be found at OneOhioFoundation.com/GrantAwards.
The 2024 Regional Grant Cycle is just the first of several grant opportunities to come. Organizations and leaders seeking to submit applications in the future can sign up on the Foundation’s website here to receive updates.
