Ohio set to increase minimum wage Jan. 1

A slightly higher minimum wage will usher in the new year for Ohio employers and employees, as the state minimum wage will increase from $7.40 an hour to $7.70 an hour.
Ohio is one of eight states that will be increasing its minimum wage Jan. 1.
The increases in Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Montana, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington will be 28 cents to 37 cents an hour, according to the National Employment Law Project (www.nelp.org).
For a full-time minimum wage worker, it's an extra $582 to $770 a year.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour for most workers.
About 1 million minimum-wage workers nationwide could be receiving increases.[[In-content Ad]]
