Ohio investing to enhance communities, support businesses
COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Development today announced the release of more than $1 million through two state-funded programs that will strengthen infrastructure and support business expansion.
ROADWORK DEVELOPMENT GRANT
The Roadwork Development Grant (629) Program provides funding to local jurisdictions with an economic development project to assist with eligible public roadwork improvements. It also helps employers in creating or preserving employment opportunities.
Green Township in the city of Chillicothe (Ross County) will receive $484,500 in support of the Great Seal Medical Center project. The roadwork will consist of the construction of approximately 537 linear feet of Cohen’s Way, beginning at River Road and extending west. The road will end with a turnaround to allow large trucks to access the Great Seal Medical Campus. Through the project, 194 jobs will be created.
The village of Versailles (Darke County) will receive $250,000 in support of the Midmark Corporation project. The roadwork will consist of the construction of an additional 1,350 linear feet of public access road, extending north from the North West Street/Baker Road intersection to a proposed four-way intersection, connecting to Industrial Parkway. The completed road will create direct access for heavy truck traffic to the Midmark campus. The project will improve traffic flow, accessibility, and overall safety in the area.

REGIONAL 166 DIRECT LOAN
The Regional 166 Direct Loan Program promotes economic development, job creation, and job retention by providing low-interest loans to businesses with limited access to adequate capital from private funding sources.
Trillium Land Holdings, LLC will receive $297,313 to assist in financing the purchase and renovation of a 4,588-square-foot office space located on a 1.49-acre parcel at 4901 Central College Road in Westerville (Franklin County). Trillium Land Holdings, LLC is a real estate holding company formed to lease and hold the project real estate to the operating company MAD Scientist Associates, LLC, which is a full-service ecological and wetlands consulting firm committed to wetland surveys and full-scale wetland restoration and recreation. The project, estimated to cost $909,000, will create three new full-time-equivalent jobs and retain 15 existing jobs.
