Official recount Tuesday for ADAMH levy
The Highland County Board of Elections will hold a recount for the Paint Valley ADAMH on Tuesday, April 3 at 8 a.m. in the Board office. The Board of Elections will also conduct a post-election audit immediately following the recount. The public is welcome to attend.
Serving Ross, Pike, Fayette, Pickaway and Highland county, the ADAMH Board's mission is "To meet the recovery needs of our communities by providing access to quality and integrated services, empowering consumers and supporting innovative and evidence-based approaches to treatment and prevention," according to their website.
In Highland County, the levy failed to pass with 2,861 votes for the levy and 4,351 votes against it.
The Chillicothe Gazette reported last week that official results for the levy showed that the levy is passing, but the margin of victory was enough for an official recount.
"Unofficial results had the 10-year, 1-mill replacement levy for ADAMH passing by just 100 votes across the five counties, leaving any possible actions by the board or its agencies on hold. Official results show the levy 145 votes ahead. The margin is within a half of a percent," according to The Gazette.
