ODOT District Safety, Personnel Departments host training exercise

Each year, the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9's Personnel and Safety departments host an orientation program for the summer seasonal workers.

During their first day on the job, the students will learn guidelines, policies, practices and procedures related to their job for the summer months. Included in this is an exercise in flagging operations and personal safety.

Taking a quick break from their training, a few of the kids were recruited to pose for photos to remind motorists of Ohio’s new Move Over law, which requires motorists to cautiously shift over one lane – or slow down if changing lanes is not possible – when passing any vehicle with flashing lights along the side of the road.
