Noontime crowd enjoys first day of Festival of the Bells

Local vendors, including the Highland County Pork Producers and Cattlemen's association, are serving lunch Thursday, July 3 in uptown Hillsboro during the 30th annual Festival of the Bells.

The Festival of the Bells is an annual celebration which is held the on the Fourth of July Weekend every year in the center of Hillsboro.

The festival (July 3-5) offers three days of events, entertainment, vendors and also rides and games for kids. There is no admission charge.

Festival of the Bells officers and committee members include: Michael Bradford, Lindsay Bender, Connie Williams, Bev Carroll, Debbie Wallingford, Nyhla Carey, Chuck Emery, Nick Fauber, Mary Fent, Norman Fent, Mary Grooms, Scott Miller, Charlie Wallingford, Rick Williams and Ronnie Whitenack.
