A new chapter of the Ohio Society of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) held its second organizational meeting July 16 at the Sardinia Branch Library in Brown County.
Named the Highlanders Chapter, they met to select officers for 2016.
Officers are Ian M. Cunningham, president; and Ervin L. Chaney, secretary/treasurer.
Some members for the chapter will transfer in from the larger Cincinnati chapter, and there are a number of members new to SAR from the Adams, Brown and Highland County areas.
Membership in the Sons of the American Revolution is open to males who are able to prove their lineal decent by bloodline from an ancestor who aided in the cause of the American Revolution of 1776.
