More than $11,000 awarded by HCCF to support projects, programs benefiting Highland County
The Highland County Community Fund (HCCF), in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), has awarded four grants, totaling $11,500, to support projects and programs benefiting the county’s residents and communities.
“Highland County is home to many individuals and organizations committed to the well-being of our neighbors and neighborhoods,” said Susan Davis, HCCF committee member. “We are delighted to invest donors’ dollars into people and programs that will make a difference today and for years to come.”
Nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Highland County were invited to apply for grants to advance opportunities across five areas essential to flourishing communities: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the collective potential within Highland County.
Grants were awarded to:
• Hillsboro Christian Academy to purchase books for third-grade classes.
• Hillsboro First Baptist Church to purchase diapers and other items for The Diaper Depot’s distributions to families who need assistance.
• Area 937 Community Outreach Inc. to purchase higher-quality meats for its monthly food distributions serving at-risk families.
• Grow! Highland County to support its enterprise facilitation programming that provides free and confidential resources for new and existing businesses in Highland County.
