At the Highland County District Library, patrons are finding ways to learn about the community — and even the universe — in exhibits that highlight area history and interests.

Just beyond the library's front doors is a meteorite display. This collection of meteorites includes “rocks from space” that have been found as far as Africa and China and as near as Powellsville, Ohio.

In the young adult section, patrons can find a display of Native American points and artifacts. These items cover different eras and are all mostly from Highland, Ross, Adams, Brown, and Scioto counties.

In addition, the library also regularly highlights a local artist. Currently, Donna O'Dom's paintings are on display in the reference section. O'Dom is a new member of the Brush and Palette Art Guild. During this year's art show, her work won the Violet Linton Award.

Displays throughout the library change regularly, and patrons are encouraged to check in and peruse these exhibits.

To learn more, visit the Highland County District Library or search for the library on Facebook. If interested in displaying items, contact O'Dom, who is also the assistant supervisor at the library, at 937-393-3114.
