Merchants National Bank makes donation to Festival of the Bells

Representatives of Merchants National Bank presented the Festival of the Bells committee with a check for $1,000, Thursday morning at the bank's Hillsboro main office.

Jim Evans and Bertha Hamilton were present to donate the funds to Festival of the Bells Committee President Michael Bradford.

Bradford thanked the bank for being a "longtime corporate sponsor" and for their ongoing sponsorship and organization of the annual Pet Parade.

Hamilton said that the bank has sponsored the Pet Parade each year since the festival's inception.

Bradford said that the Festival committee is looking forward to a special year. The annual Fourth of July weekend celebration will mark its 30th anniversary with "four big shows" featuring Parmalee, Eric Paslay, Zach Paxson and Frankie Ballard.

The Festival of the Bells is set for July 3-5 in uptown Hillsboro.
