Major McCray earns Ambassador for Peace Medal

Major "Mac" McCray was honored with the Ambassador for Peace Medal on July 19 in Dayton.
The ceremony was hosted by the Dayton VA Medical Center, the Dayton Area Korean Association and the Korean Veterans Memorial Association.

The Deputy Consul General of the Korean Consulate of Chicago presented the medals to veterans of the Korean War as an expression of appreciation.
The people of the Republic of Korea are dedicated to displaying their gratitude for the service performed by United States veterans in restoring and preserving the freedom and democracy of their country. It was in grateful recognition that they re-affirmed the mutual respect and friendship between the republic of Korea and the United States.
Major McCray is retired from the U.S. Army. He served in both World War II and Korea as part of the combat engineering unit. He is a frequent guest speaker at area Veterans Day and Memorial Day observances.
