Lynchburg Medical Center holds ground-breaking ceremony

Lynchburg Medical Center held an official ground-breaking ceremony Wednesday, May 20 to kick off the construction of a new medical office building that will be located adjacent to the existing building at 8900 S.R. 134 in Lynchburg.
The ceremony included local business leaders, Highland District Hospital staff and board members, and representatives from the construction, architectural and design firms.
Highland District Hospital CEO Jim Baer said the design of the medical office facility "took patient and physician comments into mind so that we could create an environment that is centered around patient care activity.”
The building is 1,900 square feet and will serve as the medical office for two providers, Anthony Wetherington, MD and Angela McNeilan-Bennett, PA-C.
JoBeth (Beery) Lee, MD, will be joining the practice in October.
"All of the staff at Lynchburg Medical Center know that the facility is more than brick and mortar,” said Bennett. “This is a commitment to providing health-care services that meet and exceed the expectations of our patients. We could not be more proud to work in Lynchburg and care for the healthcare needs of our residents.”
According to Rodney Roark, General Contractor, completion is slated for October 2015. An official open house will be planned for the grand opening of the new facility.
