Lt. Governor Mary Taylor announces 2016 NAIC appointments
Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor announced Friday that she will continue to serve on numerous National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) committees and task forces to provide regulatory oversight and consumer protection expertise on important state and federal insurance issues. This includes Taylor serving as a member of the Life Insurance and Annuities Committee and the Financial Condition Committee.
“I am pleased to continue to work with my fellow state commissioners on these important committees and taskforces,” said Taylor, also director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. “Ensuring that Ohioans continue to experience a market-driven, state-regulated insurance environment that supports marketplace competition and consumer choice is my goal.”
Taylor and the department will participate on 20 committees and task forces, including as Chair of the Examination Oversight Task Force, and Vice Chair of the Life Actuarial Task Force. Ohio will also serve as a member on several other committees to address such matters as protecting seniors, combating insurance fraud, marketplace regulation and monitoring the financial solvency of insurance companies.
The NAIC is a national organization of insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories whose main objective is to provide support to insurance regulators across the country by promoting competitive markets, improvement of insurance regulations and equitable treatment of insurance consumers.
