Local businesses donate autographed IHC 766 pedal tractor for Junior Fair Board fundraiser

A group of local businesses will be donating an autographed International Harvester Company 766 pedal tractor in order to raise money for the Highland County Junior Fair Board and the 4-H program.
The IHC 766 tractor has been signed by Max Armstrong of "This Week in AgriBusiness." Armstrong signed the tractor while at Southern State Community College for the 2014 "Agriculture Is Everyone's Business" event held Friday, Jan. 17 at the Patriot Center.
Armstrong is one of the most widely recognized and highly regarded agricultural journalists in America. His broadcasts have been seen and heard by millions of farmers and consumers for nearly 30 years. From studios in Chicago, Armstrong is heard daily with his agriculture and business news broadcasts on legendary radio powerhouse WGN.

Armstrong's Tribune Radio Network program "Farming America" is carried on a network of approximately 165 radio stations reaching every region of the country.
In pursuit of the news of agriculture, Armstrong has originated broadcasts from every state in America and at least 30 nations. His work has earned dozens of honors from agricultural groups, trade associations, professional organizations and fraternities.
The Armstrong-signed tractor was purchased by Donald E. Fender, Inc. Realtors, Holbrook Farms and the Hess Auction Co. LLC.
The buyers are donating the tractor to be sold at the 2014 Highland County Fair on Friday night, Sept. 5, between the Junior Fair Market Beef sale and the Market Lamb sale.
All proceeds will go to the Junior Fair Board. The community is invited to attend the Highland County Fair on Sept. 5 and bid on the IHC 766 pedal tractor.
The 2014 Highland County Fair is Aug. 30-Sept. 6.
