Lebanon OSHP Post handling commercial vehicle crash on I-71
Lebanon – The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a commercial vehicle crash on I-71 northbound, north of S.R. 123, in Warren County.
At 6:16 a.m. on Feb. 22, 2026, the Lebanon Highway Patrol Post was notified of an injury crash on I-71 northbound near mile post 33 involving a commercial vehicle and a box truck.
The box truck was abandoned on the right shoulder after becoming disabled due to a mechanical issue. The semi drove onto the right shoulder and struck the abandoned box truck. The impact pushed the box truck off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest on its top.
The driver of the semi, Mohamed Ould Baba, 64, of New York, New York was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
The right lane of I-71 northbound was shut down for several hours for cleanup and removal.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Turtlecreek Township Fire Department and EMS, Sandy’s Towing, and Steve’s Towing.
