Kasich appoints Scott Milburn as deputy chief of staff
Governor John R. Kasich announced he has appointed Scott Milburn to be his deputy chief of staff, effective Feb. 29.
Milburn, who led communication efforts on Kasich’s first gubernatorial campaign in 2010, served as communication director in the Office of the Governor until last summer when he left for a similar role with Kasich’s campaign for president.

Welcoming Milburn back to his executive staff, Kasich said, “Scott’s strong management skills and understanding of public policy have always been important contributions to our team. He’ll be able to work easily across the Administration to continue building on Ohio’s successes and advancing our agenda to help every Ohioan have a chance to move ahead.”
As deputy chief of staff, Milburn’s duties will include overseeing gubernatorial appointments and working with state agencies to manage personnel.
Prior to joining the Kasich Administration, Milburn served in senior communication positions at the White House, for former U.S. Senator George Voinovich and former Governor Bob Taft. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University.
