FOLSOM – Johnny Fink & The Intrusion (www.johnnyfink.com) will return to the Fling Barn stage for a benefit concert for the Highland County Humane Society on Saturday, Sept. 15 in Folsom. The event will be from 6-11 p.m.
“Those of you who have seen Johnny perform at the Barn before are well aware that he not only is an excellent blues guitarist and singer, but a truly dynamic performer who totally electrifies his audience,” Dr. Bill Fling said. “Those who have yet to experience the old-time blues and rock laid down by Johnny Fink & the Intrusion need to be at The Fling Barn on Saturday night.”
Johnny Fink & The Intrusion were in the Top 5 at the International Blues Competition in Memphis last year.
According to their website, “The band was formed in the winter of 1992, originally going with the name The Blue Intrusions, with real-life guitar hero Johnny Fink pulling together a powerful four-piece lineup of talented pro players through a diverse blues spectrum. They covered a wide range of blues, tapping the soul of the music from well-known legendary blues artists. Jammin’ everything from the Allman Brothers to Buddy Guy, then swinging from Albert Collins to Lonnie Mack.
“Their original music contains true conviction and passion often missing from others in the genre. And don’t be shy about walking up to request your favorite classic rock song, or memorable blues tune – they know them all.”
