Jim Faust guest speaker at Southern Ohio Genealogical Society meeting Nov. 13

Southern Ohio Genealogical Society (SOGS) will present a program featuring basic rules of parliamentary procedure by Jim Faust on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at 1487 N. High Street, Hillsboro.

Mr. Faust is a retired FFA adviser and agricultural education instructor who has taught many classes on the proper use of basic parliamentary rules. This session will include some of the most common procedures that should be used in any business meeting situation.

Almost all organizations and groups require the use of parliamentary rules as they conduct routine business. Many times those in attendance or those who are leading the meeting do not understand fundamental rules of procedure and this problem can lead to confusion, misunderstanding, and legal issues.

During this session, Mr. Faust will review several of the most common and often needed parliamentary rules. He will discuss guidelines and he will distribute printed handouts with basic procedures that will help in common routine situations.

This program will be open to the SOGS members and any organization that would like for their members or officers to receive training on parliamentary procedure.

The SOGS Office is located at 1487 N. High Street (North High Business Center) in Hillsboro.

The program will be offered in the conference room.
