Jay Harmount of Greenfield has joined Brodbeck Seeds as district sales manager, serving farmers in southwestern Ohio.

Crop farming is a way of life for Harmount.

Prior to joining Brodbeck Seeds, he acquired more than three decades of experience working with seed and retail agronomy companies. He has served on the Southwest Ohio Corn Growers Board for more than 20 years, and served as the organization’s president from 2004 to 2008. In 2001 he became a certified crop adviser.

Since attending the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute, Harmount has witnessed many changes in the agricultural arena, but he says the current moment is especially exciting. “The pace of innovation driving the seed industry is accelerating and presenting farmers with new solutions,” said Harmount.

Brodbeck Seeds General Manager Jim Engelberth said that Harmount’s depth of experience in the agricultural arena, particularly the seed industry, will be an asset to the Brodbeck Seeds team. “Through his background working with farmers in the field and his service leadership in the seed industry, Jay is a valuable addition to our team,” Engelberth stated.
