Hundreds attend 2014 HUBA Holiday Parade

Hundreds of residents filled the streets in the historic uptown area Saturday, Nov. 29 for the 2014 Hillsboro Uptown Business Association Holiday Parade.

The annual Hillsboro Holiday Parade began at 2 p.m. on an overcast afternoon with temperatures hovering around 50 degrees.

This year's parade theme was “A Country Christmas.” The parade started at the Highland County Fairgrounds and proceeded up West Main Street to North High Street, ending on Catherine Street.

Hillsboro Police Chief Todd Whited and new Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera led the 2014 parade in their respective cruisers.

Brian Vance and Alex Butler served as parade announcers from the corner of West Main and North High Street.

Joe Mahan of the Hillsboro Uptown Business Association passed out trophies to the winning floats.
