Huge crowd expected for Don Eberhard Farm Toy Auction Feb. 27-28

What promises to be one of the best farm toy auctions ever conducted in Highland County will be held Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28, with 900 lots to be sold over the two-day auction.

The two-day Don Eberhard Toy Auction, conducted by Rick Williams Auction Company, will be held at the Highland County Fairgrounds, 604 John Street, Hillsboro. The Friday session on Feb. 27 will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the Saturday session on Feb. 28 starting at 9 a.m.

The auction will include 141 pedal tractors, 800 farm toys, trucks and banks.

"We've already had calls from potential buyers from Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Michigan," Williams said.

Eberhard has been collecting farm toys for many years. Most toys are new in the box, and many are signed by Joseph Ertl and Fred Ertl, Jr.

Among the items for sale will be Ford, New Holland, John Deere, Allis Chalmers, AGCO, Farmall, Case IH, IH, Kubota, Oliver, Massey Ferguson and Massey Harris pedal tractors and pressed steel, banks, trucks and die-cast toys, all of which will be auctioned on Friday.

Saturday's auction will feature lots from a number of toy shows, including the Lafayette Toy Show, Woodstock Ontario Show, John Deere Precision and IH Precision. Several custom toys will be sold, along with combines, sprayers, planters, tanks, skid steers and other farm equipment toys.
