HPD responds to East Main Street crash

The Hillsboro Police Department responded to a motor-vehicle accident in the 200 block of East Main Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20.

An eastbound motorist experienced a sudden medical event that caused him to lose consciousness. His truck traveled left of center, striking an upping stone and utility pole at 258 East Main Street, rolling over and coming to a rest on its top. The driver was transported to Highland District Hospital.

A second motorist witnessed the truck cross into the westbound lane and avoided being struck; however, a camper being pulled by the westbound motorist was struck and damaged. Occupants in this vehicle were treated at the scene by Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District personnel.

The HPD report is pending verification of current financial responsibility for the parties involved.
