Hillsboro woman dies in two-vehicle crash
Georgetown – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle, commercial related fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred on Sept. 10 at approximately 8:10 a.m. on state Route 32 at the intersection of Tri-County Highway in Eagle Township.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Kia Sportage, operated by Tiffany M. Keidel, 30 of Hillsboro, was driving northbound on Tri-County Highway crossing state Route 32. A 2013 Kenworth T8 tractor-trailer, operated by Andrew J. Kirby, 54 of Georgetown, was driving westbound on state Route 32 in the right lane of two.
Keidel failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by Kirby.
After impact, the vehicles continued off the right side of the roadway, back onto the westbound lanes, across the median, across the eastbound lanes of state Route 32 coming to rest in the grassy shoulder.
Keidel was pronounced deceased on scene by medi cal personnel and Brown County Coroners' Office. A juvenile passenger in Keidel’s vehicle was transported by medical helicopter to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
Kirby was transported by EMS to a local hospital for minor injuries.
All occupants were wearing the installed safety belts.
Units assisting on scene were: EJFED Fire and EMS, Mt. Orab Fire Department, Adams County EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Brown County Coroners Office, and Boyd’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
