Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 seeks information on any living World War II veterans in Highland County
The Highland County Press
"Every day, memories of World War II are disappearing from living history," according to the National World War II Museum.
The men and women who fought and won this great conflict are now in their 90s or older; and according to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs statistics, approximately 119,000 of the 16.1 million Americans who served in World War II are still alive.
That number decreases daily, as approximately 131 World War II veterans die each day.
Thus, Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 is attempting to compile a list of all living World War II veterans in Highland County – regardless of their place of residence when they served in World War II.
If you know any living World War II veteran in Highland County, please contact Gary Boatman at (937) 763-6585.
