The Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education met in a brief special session Wednesday morning to consider rehiring a retired school district teacher.
District treasurer Debbie Lawwell said that when the district decides to rehire a teacher who has previously retired it is required that it be advertised, and then a hearing must be held.
Lawwell said that the rehire was the only matter considered by the board during the special session, during which the board entered into executive session to discuss personnel.
The teacher considered for rehire is Carol Shull, who will be teaching foreign language on a part-time basis, Lawwell said.
"Nobody showed up for the hearing, and that was all we had on the agenda," Lawwell said.
