Hillsboro Police Reports - Sept. 27-29

On Sept. 29, the Hillsboro Police Department investigated a two-car accident that occurred on North High Street by Weastec. Michael Hill of Xenia was slowing to make a left turn into Weastec when Martha Baldridge was unable to stop before striking Mr. Hill. Both vehicles received moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
David Elliot of North West Street reported to the department that someone had cut up a downed tree at the back of his property. He advised that no one had permission to cut up and remove the wood. Mr. Elliot estimated the theft at $375 for 3 cords of wood.
On Sept. 27, the department investigated a four-car accident on State route 50. Anthony Parker, Caleb Stafford, and Virgie Howard were all slowing or stopped in traffic when Melissa Alder of Hillsboro was unable to stop before striking the vehicle in front of her. This caused a domino effect and the other vehicles were pushed into each other. Mr. Stafford's vehicle was disabled at the scene. Moderate to heavy damage was reported. Melissa Alder received a citation for ACDA. No injuries were reported.
