Hillsboro Police Report

These incidents have been reported by the HPD.

October 2

Joel Johnson, 19, of Hillsboro was cited for excessive smoke. 

Shawn McCarty, 27, of Manchester was cited for speed. 

On Sept. 29 at approximately 5:02 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the 300 block of North High Street for a report of a 2-car crash. Upon arrival, Keri Alexander, 43, of Lake Waynoka was stopped at a red light on North High Street at North Street. Alexander was stopped behind Melody Pitzer, 68, of Hillsboro. Pitzer began to travel southbound when the traffic light turned green, but due to traffic being backed up, Pitzer had to come to another stop to wait for traffic to start flowing again. Alexander also began southbound when Pitzer began to travel, but when Pitzer came to a stop, Alexander failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck Pitzer in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. Alexander was cited for assured clear distance ahead. 

On Oct. 2 at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a 2-car crash on South High Street at Dunlap Road. After further investigation, Dakota Beireis, 28, of Hillsboro was driving northbound on South High Street. Carol Burns, 65, of Sardinia was stopped in traffic when Beireis struck her in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. Beireis was cited for assured clear distance ahead. 

On Oct. 2 at 11:25 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the area of West Main Street near South Elm Street for a report of a 2-car crash. Upon arrival, Porter Garrett, 18, of Fayetteville, was traveling eastbound on West Main Street while Derek Ramey, 36, of Chillicothe was traveling southbound on Elm Street approaching the traffic light when Garrett ran the red light, striking Ramey on the rear passenger side door. No injuries were reported on scene. Garrett was cited for a red-light violation.
