On Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 11:28 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a two-vehicle non-injury crash in the 600 block of North West Street. A 2004 Chrysler operated by Karen Black, 61, of Hillsboro, was backing from a private driveway and was struck by a southbound 2009 Hyundai operated by Edgar Williamson, 67, of Hillsboro. There was non-functional damage to both vehicles. Black was cited for improper backing.
At 2:39 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on South High Street at Muntz Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 1997 Chevrolet driven by Mason Hunick, 18, of Hillsboro was unable to stop in time on wet pavement during a heavy rain and bumped the rear of the vehicle ahead of his. The other vehicle was a 2002 Ford operated by John Fisher, 62, of Apache Junction, Ariz. There was no damage to the Hunick vehicle and minor non-functional damage to the Fisher vehicle. There were no injuries reported, and no citations were issued.
On Thursday, Nov. 25 at 3:12 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a two-vehicle non-injury crash on North High Street south of Northview Drive. Upon investigation, it was determined that a northbound 1989 Honda operated by Nathan Dubry, 24, of Leesburg, was unable to stop in time, striking the rear of a 2007 Chevrolet operated by Nancy Elkins of Bowersville. There was functional damage to both vehicles. Dubry was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead (ACDA).
