Hillsboro Police Report

These incidents have been reported by the HPD.

On Sunday, Dec. 14, the HPD responded to a call of a pedestrian stuck in the center of town. Lisa Conti, of Hillsboro, was in the crosswalk at the intersection of High and Main Streets, and had the walk signal to cross. Todd Gragg of Bainbridge, was turning left onto E. Main from N. High St. and failed to see Conti and struck her.

Conti was transported by EMS to the hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported at time of incident.  Todd Gragg was cited, as pedestrians in the crosswalk have the right of way.

Also on Sunday, the HPD investigated a crash at the intersection of N. West and Fenner Ave. Michael Merritt of Hillsboro was traveling northbound on N. West St., and due to the icy road conditions, was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle operated by Amber Olinger of Springfield, who was sitting at the red light. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles with no apparent injuries to the drivers.
