Hillsboro Police Report

Sept. 24
Thomas Stevens, 58, of Hillsboro was cited for right-of-way at stop signs.
On Sept. 22 at approximately 2:28 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Cheyenne Hunt, 23, of Peebles and Clinton Haage, 56, of Wilmington were both traveling southbound on North West Street just north of Fairground Road. Haage was stopped in traffic at the traffic light when Hunt struck his vehicle in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. Hunt was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Sept. 25
Curtis Green, 20, of Hillsboro was cited for excessive smoke.
Jacob Shackelford, 29, of Highland was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
On Sept. 24 at approximately 4:04 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a two-car crash on West Collins Avenue at North West Street. Upon arrival, Derrick Lawson, 34, of Hillsboro was stopped at the stop sign on W. Collins Ave. at N West St. A juvenile of Hillsboro was traveling westbound on W. Collins Ave. and was approaching the intersection. The juvenile failed to stop, striking Lawson in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. The juvenile was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
