Hillsboro police officers take oaths of office

Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings swore in two Hillsboro police officers Wednesday after they received promotions in the Hillsboro Police Department.

Sergeant Jeff Murphy has been promoted to captain, following the retirement of Captain Ron Priest. Murphy has worked for the Hillsboro Police Department for 26 years.

Officer Shawn Kelley was promoted to sergeant. Kelley has been employed with the department for eight years, including as communications officer.
