Hillsboro Police Department celebrates career of retiring captain

Family, friends and coworkers gathered in the back room of the Hillsboro Police Department Friday afternoon to celebrate the retirement of Hillsboro Police Captain Jeff Murphy.

Murphy, who served as a patrol officer, drug officer, sergeant and captain during his career, recently retired after 27 years of service with the Hillsboro Police Department.



Murphy was presented plaques from the Hillsboro Police Department, Highland County Sheriff’s Office, Highland County Prosecutor’s Office and City of Hillsboro in honor of his retirement.

Guests of the retirement party enjoyed refreshments and viewed a photo album with highlights of Murphy’s life and career.
